To support residents during the stressful examination period, the College 1 tutorial team hosted two “Sweet Soup” evenings on 12 December and 19 December, 2025 for students from College 1 and College 2, JCSV IV.
On 12 December, RT Anna-Maria Kutateladze and volunteers Susie Lui, Kim Gyuri, and Bella Liu served a hot fruit sweet soup made with apple, pear, grapefruit, and raisins, inspired by an Eastern European kompot-style recipe. On 19 December, JRT Suyu Hao, together with RT Keith Cheung, prepared traditional Chinese-style red bean sweet soup, offering residents another warm and comforting treat.
The events were co-sponsored by 813 Boba Tea, owned by College 1 resident Fu Tien. We extend our sincere thanks to Fu Tien and their family for their generosity in providing free tea on site, as well as 50% off coupons for their shop in Southside Mall.
This Sweet Soup initiative has now been running for three semesters and has become a beloved College 1 tradition. It aims to keep students warm, both physically and emotionally, during challenging exam times. The tutorial team of College 1 plans to bring it back again in the assessment period of Semester 2.
