(Message from Professor Sophia Chan, Master of College 1)
Dear College 1 Alumni and Residents of Jockey Club Student Village IV,
We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our beloved College 1 Senior Resident Tutor, Dr. Michael Manio.

Far more than an exceptional educator, Michael was at the heart of our community and a cherished member of the Jockey Club Student Village IV family. Through his role as a Senior Resident Tutor, he touched countless lives with his compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to student development. The Village was where he built a home, formed enduring friendships, and became a familiar and beloved presence to generations of residents. His warmth and genuine care fostered a spirit of togetherness that made our community feel like a family. Michael's dedication to serving others extended well beyond the Village. He remained actively engaged in grassroots community work, sharing health knowledge and promoting well-being among underserved communities. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his kindness, friendship, and service will remain deeply woven into the fabric of our Village.
To honor his memory, a Condolence Corner has been set up in the Mindfulness Studio. We welcome all our alumni, students and colleagues to visit, reflect, and share your messages of love, gratitude, and respect.
